NEWS

Keeping you up to date on the latest news from the Field

8/27/07 - Eleven teams participated in the Battle of the Beans on a scorching hot August Sunday.  Thanks to all the teams that braved the high temperatures and played.  It seemed like it was a good practice with lots of good competition all around.  Congrats to Team Misfits on 1st, RUTHLE$$ 2nd, DC Krew 3rd and Redz Outlaws 4th.

Be sure to check into our Shoot for the Loot tournament on September 16th, a Skyline Paintball Exclusive, teams will win cash for every game they win throughout preliminaries.  The cash prize is higher in the final rounds.  Sign up online at www.paintball-players.org

4/25/06 - Krikey what a weekend!!!  The weekend started early with the Warren County High School Paintball Club enjoying a school field trip here at the field.  I would like to congratulate the kids at WCHS for being the first high school that I can ever remember that successfully has formed an Official School Paintball Club.  I hope a lot more high schools follow suit.  The kids had a great day at the field, it is not often you see a public school bus at the field.  We are thrilled that this is a recognized club with the school, I know it took a lot of organization and hard work!!

The scenario players descended on Skyline Paintball for the GI Joe Secret Threat scenario game produced by Blackcat Productions.  In spite of a very rainy weekend the players came en masse to participate in this great event.  We had a blast with everyone all weekend and even though we are exhausted the weekend was an overwhelming success.  Thanks to the dedicated die hard scenario players this place was hopping all weekend!!!  Team Rogue participated in the Vegas PSP.  We are thrilled they were able to go and enjoy this event.  Just remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!!!LOL!  The S3 Super Series is fast approaching.  Registration forms are available online and at the stores.  Please call or email with any questions.

4/12/06 - Spring is here!!  The Skyline S3 Super Series has been scheduled and the dates are posted.  Teams will pay a $100 entry fee and get 3 Free S3 Series T Shirts with their registration!!!  More info is on the website, we are looking forward to hosting this great event.  The Beans schedule is in place with the five man dates all posted.  We will add some more Beans as time permits and if we can find a time to schedule it, we will have a Shoot for the Loot Tourney as well.  Rogue is busy preparing for the PSP and the Rogue Kidz are busy getting ready for their next events.  Teams are welcome to practice here at the field but we ask that you please give us a heads up when you come.  We had a problem with a disgruntled player that didn't feel we had the field up and ready to his liking when they showed up on a Saturday to play.  Unfortunately the day was extremely busy and we had to get the field ready for the Beans the next day.  In order to avoid this problem, it would help a lot if you let us know your team wants to practice.  The GI Joe scenario is fast approaching and we already have well over 200 preregistrations.  Should be a great event and a great turnout.  We look forward to seeing all our "old" friends at the scenario.  Lex and I are giving up Vegas so we can be here for all our friends with Blackcat Productions!!!  We have an open house scheduled at the Winchester store on Saturday, May 6th.  There will be a free Special Edition Apple Blossom/Skyline Paintball TShirt handed out while they last.  Be sure to visit the store on the Saturday of Apple Blossom!!!

3/26/06 - Where does the time go.  The Winchester and Harrisonburg stores are going along great, the field is out of control busy.  We had a player here this weekend that travels a lot and said this was the overall best facility he had ever been to. Great rec fields, great refs, I can't tell you how much it meant to have someone say such nice things about something you work so hard at!!

Anyhow for 2006 Team Rogue is sponsored by DYE precision.  I can't tell you what an honor and a great privilege this is.  DYE has taken great care of us for several years and we are proud to wear the DYE logo and use the DYE Products.  They are a great paintball company.  We look forward to this season with all new DYE gear.

The Skyline Super Series schedule is place with the first event rolling around in May.  The Beans will continue with the first Beans scheduled on April 2nd.  We have a huge scenario planned for April 22 & 23rd and are looking forward to another Blackcat scenario here at Skyline.  Be sure to pre register to get the discount and other nice perks for registering early.

11/18/2005 - Ah, our poor, neglected News Page.  So much is always going on I forget to get it posted here.  Skyline Paintball has been busy as ever.  Sometimes when I see other websites for other fields and stores I take a deep breath and appreciate what we have here at Skyline.  Along with great customers and friends, we really have a great overall facility.  Nothing is more disappointing than a website that touts itself as the "greatest field ever" and doesn't deliver when you get there.  We strive to take the high road and it shows by the tremendous growth and attendance here at Skyline Paintball.  I would like to take a minute to thank all our great customers, teams and friends.

Now onto what is going on.  Rogue, Rogue Too and Rogue Kidz are adding new players to the lineup and looking strong as we head into Winter League.  Also on the agenda for next year will be another Virginia Cup.  More details and info to be announced but we have missed this series this year.  Any fields interested in hosting this event please contact me.  We have a few more Beans to finish out the year and a three man Tourney on December 4th.  Please be sure to check the calendar for an up to date posting of what is scheduled.

The pro shops are gearing up for the Holiday Season.  The Harrisonburg store is taking off and we have had a tremendous response to our pro shop down there, luckily our reputation for customer service and fair pricing preceded us.  The Winchester store is busier than ever and we look forward to a great Holiday season there.  Please be sure to contact the guys and either store to be sure we have what you need for Christmas!!

As we head into the Holiday season please take the time to enjoy your friends and family.  Have a Great Holiday!

7/30/05 - Congratulations to Rogue Kidz for taking 1st place at the IAO in Pittsburgh.  They won first place in the 3-man Young Guns Division.  This was a team with Sam Haynes, Brent Stottlemeyer and Nick Marsengill.  The boys had an excellent tournament and their first place finish was an improvement over their 3rd place finish last year.  All three are fourteen and will not be able to participate in the Young Guns next year.  Way to go out on top boys, you played hard and earned your first place finish.

7/4/05- Congratulations to Team Rogue for taking 3rd place at the Chicago PSP.  Skyline has scheduled two Beans for July including a three man on July 10th.  The Rogue Kidz are planning on attending the IAO at the end of July.

4/13/05 - Spring is here and with it lots of changes and upgrades to the field and pro shop.  Chris and Sam have been busy installing glass cabinets in the pro shop.  This allows us to display all the gear and accessories we carry at the pro shop.  The new glass cabinets make it easy to see at-a-glance what accessories and gear are in stock for specific markers.  The new glass cabinets are a welcome addition to the pro shop.  Unlike other fields we have a complete pro shop on site.  Generally we have what you need for your marker in stock and at a great price.  We are happy to special order gear as well.  The new display cabinets have been a great addition to the pro shop.  Spring has brought a ton of players to the field, with the huge influx of players we have had to adapt to checking in an enormous amount of people in a short amount of time.  New procedures have been put in place to streamline the check in process, this includes having player waivers on file on the computer.  We can now check in a player in minutes.  Also new for Spring is the new "Monolith" field.  This field is a welcome addition at Skyline and will help us with keeping multiple groups going on multiple fields.  Other changes have been made enabling several fields to be played simultaneously side by side which is a huge help when running multiple fields.  The new real grass field has had the poles in stalled and the netting ordered.  It should be ready shortly.  We will utilize this field which will give us a chance to put the artificial turf down on the other field.  We are so excited about this new artificial turf.  At Skyline, we again are putting our players first and evolving with our growth to keep our players happy.  Thanks for your continued support.

3/6/05 -  Winter League has been keeping us busy through the Winter Months.  Thanks to all the teams that have been participating in Winter League this year.  We have a great bunch of teams and this has been a very enjoyable Winter league.  The final date of Winter League is this Sunday.  Thanks also to Richmond Riot for reffing this event.

We would also like to welcome three new sponsored teams to Skyline Paintball.  In addition to Rogue, Rogue Kidz, Scoundrels and Furnace Factory, we have added Three Kings, ASI Guys and Team Remnant.  Welcome to Skyline.

Spring is fast approaching and the teams are gearing up for the round of tournaments that begin in Spring.  Skyline will again be hosting our "Shoot for the Loot@" tournament on April 9th and 10th.  Three man will be Saturday and Five Man on Sunday.  We are excited to again offer this unique tournament with cash and prizes being given out for every game.  This is a Skyline Paintball Original.

Team Rogue has attended their first PSP in LA this past February.  We had a blast.  The team played well but missed the semis.  I believe this is the best I have ever seen them play.  We have some new things going on with Rogue and we look forward to attending the rest of the PSP events for 2005.

1/23/05 - Thanks to all our customers and friends that kept us so busy throughout 2004.  We had another record year and have lots of plans for 2005.  Thanks for your friendship and your business.  We definitely love what we do here at Skyline.  Keep checking the website for more info on events here at the field.

Team Rogue will again participate in the PSP.  We will be heading to LA in February for the first event.  I guess you can't go wrong going to California in February.  Good luck to all our teams in 2005 including Furnace Factory, Scoundrels and Rogue Kidz, they all have busy schedules for 2005.

11/28/04 - So much has happened the past several weeks.  The first Shoot for the Loot was a tremendous success.  The new format worked well and the "instant gratification" of prizes or cash after every game worked really well.  The preliminaries varied with the starting payout of $50 per game, then prizes then $75 per game.  The finals paid out $100 per game.  Thanks to all the teams that participated in this first try of the format.  We definitely will be doing this again.  The field has been overwhelmingly busy these past several weeks.  The walk ons and rentals have been playing and keeping the fields busy.  The Thanksgiving Weekend stayed busy with things quite a bit slower for Sunday but the Beans kept us busy.  Nine teams played the Thanksgiving Beans with several new faces and teams and some of regular Skyline Beans.  The teams had a great day of practice and it was a fun day of paintball.  Thanks to the hundreds of new and regular faces we have seen over the past several weeks.  We are now gearing up for Winter League in 2005 which will be in the five man format.  Teams can contact Sue for more info and I will post information as well.

10/3/04 - Thanks to all the players and groups that have been keeping us so busy the past few weeks.  Love those days with over 100 players.  The weather has been great and the new players and groups have been pouring in.  The new Monolith field is almost ready to go and should be up shortly.  The Skyline Winners Tournament "Shoot for the Loot" is coming up in November and is getting a lot of response already, I think the players are anxious to try out this format.  The Halloween Big Game will be October 30th so keep that on your calendar as that is always a good time.

8/7/04 - Sorry for not posting more news, it is not for a lack of news but rather a lack of time to post everything that is going on.  Rogue Kidz participated at the IAO in the Three man Young Guns and took 3rd place, Scoundrels also participated in the 5-man and made it to semi finals.  Both teams had a great tournament and congratulations on a great event.  The fields have stayed busy throughout the summer with record crowds on most days with a few days here and there being slow.  The new air system has been up and running and the new Bauer Air Taps are a great addition to the pro shop.  As we have been growing and getting bigger we have discovered that the only way to go inside the building is up so a second floor work room has been added inside for the gun techs to work on equipment.  The old workroom has been expanded and now holds the new Bauer Compressor system and bank of tanks for compressed air.  A brand new permanent airfield is being worked on as well as a new rec ball field.  The new air ball field should be ready in a few weeks and will be used for mostly seven man and five man practices and will have an area to run drills.  The summer is zooming by and we look forward to the fall.  The store marked its one year anniversary and we are thrilled with how the store is going.

6/6/04 - The boys (Chris and Sam) have been very busy this week.  The target shoot has been moved and remodeled and now is a lot bigger and better.  The target shoot is covered and really a nice addition to the field, I heard a LOT of paint getting shot in the new target area.  Also new this week were two covered pavilions added to the old pavilion area.  This is a really nice new sheltered area for our players.

6/1/04 - I am exhausted after the three day weekend, I don't remember a nicer Memorial Day weekend, the weather was great, the fields were busy, the rain held off till the end of the day, good times!!!! Anyhow we now have two new covered pavilion areas to replace the old pavilion we lost in the snowstorm.  We have moved most of the tables and vending machines under the pavilion so the new staging area is ready to go!!!  The beach also opened this past weekend and since it was so nice outside the beach was busy as well.  The Beans went smooth this Sunday with congrats going to Triple Threat for taking first and the Beans!!!!  Hard to believe we have been doing the Beans for several years and it is still an event that is so much fun there are even other fields copying this idea, have to say, Chris came up with an original idea that was great, you know what they say, imitation is a sincerest form of flattery!!!  Paintball is getting bigger and stronger and it shows with the fields around, the cool events that are around and the crowds that are around!!!  We will be running a few specials for June so be sure to check out the web page to get the info.

5/28/04 - Another month has flown by.  May was busier than ever with tons of groups and players all month.  The second VPC at Paintball Authority is complete.  Congratulations to Old School 1st, Malefactor 2nd, Twizted 3rd, and Five Men Out 4th.  A special thanks also to Paintball Authority for hosting this event.  The next VPC will be at Skyline on June 13th.  Just a reminder to everyone that the beach opens here at the field over Memorial Day Weekend for the groups and families that come out you are welcome to spend the day at the beach while your kids are here at the paintball field.  We have discount coupons for paintball players and their families to use the beach.  For more info on Half Moon Beach please go to www.halfmoonbeach.com.  We had our big scenario in May also with Blackcat Productions and it was a huge success.  Thanks to all the players and families that spent the weekend with us here at the field, we really enjoyed the weekend.  We look forward to the Big Game in August with Blackcat Productions as well.

4/25/04 - The first VPC is complete.  Congratulations to Five Men Out for taking 1st place, 2nd place Malefactor, 3rd Place Old School and 4th place Final Hour.  The first event went quick and smooth and thanks to Chris, Scoundrels and Rogue for reffing this event.

4/20/04 - The field continues to be crazy busy.  The Psycho Bunny Egg Hunt was a big success with over 130 players participating.  We were happy with the turnout over Easter weekend and should have some pictures up soon.  The exchange for the Bunny and the alligator was fun and I appreciate all the players that came out.  Thanks to PMI and National for sponsoring some of the prizes we were able to give out.  We hid over 150 eggs, we got most of them back and the funniest thing was when a player came in with an Egg from 2003.  What are the odds that someone would find a year old egg??? Anyhow we are planning our next big game for June.  I will post info soon and we are leaning toward a "Rocky Horror" theme.  That could be crazy!!!!  Good luck to Rogue in Orlando next week and also to all the teams that will be coming out for this first Virginia Pursuit Cup this weekend!!!

3/18/04 - Where does the time go?  February and March have been busier than ever, March has been staying booked up and the field has been crazy.  Winter League is finishing up and we are looking forward to the VPC starting in April.

2/16/2004 - Back from Mardi Gras!!! Had a blast in addition to doing well at the tournament we had a lot of fun doing the "New Orleans" thing.  The team played well finishing in 8th place after making semis.  To say it was muddy would be a tremendous understatement.  The mud was ankle and knee deep in most places and I am sure a lot of hotels are regretting having washing machines around for the players.  The team had a good tourney and played well in a tough division.  The four teams we lost to all finished ahead of us including Momma's Boys, AGD Pride, Dyslexic Dogs and SFT.  Mommas Boys won the tourney and the team got some great experience in against some good teams.  It was a tough tourney and we were thrilled to make the cut into semi finals.  So far out of four PSP events, we have made semis in two.  Pretty good for a new PSP team.  Hopefully we will get better after this.  The team and entourage had a great time in New Orleans and we made sure we had time to get in some "culture" including a trip to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street.  Couldn't to go New Orleans with out that.  We also had a great time with our first experience with Crawfish and Oysters.  Also had a lot of fun at the parade we made it to, you can certainly load up on beads at a parade down there.  Next year we hope to do all that again and more.  Sam, John and James spent Thursday helping out Miami Effect during their match with the Ironmen.  They got to help fill pods and clean players.  It was a neat experience for Sam and he worked in the "pit" on Friday and Saturday as wel.  He has some cool Miami Effect stuff as souvenirs.  Thanks to all the Miami Effect guys for making this experience so neat for him including Chris LaSoya, Travis Lemanski, Brian LB Fow and Steve Rabacoff.  It was a lot of fun to be in the "pit" with Miami Effect.  Way to go Sammy, Miami was 3-0 with Sammy back there helping.  Never underestimate your pit crew!!!

2/06/2004 - February Already!!!  January went great in spite of dealing with the weather just about every weekend.  The Winter League kicked off the end of January and the teams are enjoying the competition of XBall while getting through the winter months.  We are still looking a head to April when the Virginia Pursuit Cup Series will kick off again.  The first event is scheduled for April 25th  at Pevs.  We have a new website up that will help get the info out to players www.virginiacup.com.  Be sure to check there and contact us if you have any questions.  We look forward to a bigger season this year and encourage all five man teams to participate.

Also Team Rogue will be attending the Mardi Gras Open next week, yeah!!!  We are all looking forward to going to New Orleans.

12/31/03 - Happy New Year everyone!!!!  The field was bigger, stronger and better than ever.  Thanks to all our players and friends for supporting our field.  We got a lot accomplished in 2003 and hope to have even more to offer in 2004.  The new store in Winchester has being going GREAT and we are looking forward to our future in Winchester.  Our teams had a busy year with events attended in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Orlando.  The Virginia Pursuit Cup was introduced this year as a new series for Virginia  and will be even bigger and better for 2004.  We started Winter League XBall(tm) this past Winter and were the first field around to introduce XBall(tm) to our players.  This year also marked the addition of our second air ball field with the addition of a seven man/XBall field.  We now have two complete airball fields for our tournament players.  The walk on/rec ball fields have still be undergoing changes with the addition of the Frontier Fort Field, new Rocket Field, Helicopter Field and new tunnels on the Helicopter field.  Chris has more ideas and plans up his sleeve so look for the fields to get even better.

Thanks to everybody for a tremendous 2003!!!! We wish you all a safe, happy, healthy and fun New Year!!!

12/10/03 - Happy Holidays to everyone!!!! Judging by all the players getting new gear and equipment there will be a lot of happy players hitting the fields after Christmas. We have been busy at the store and field and trying to keep up with all the demands for paintball equipment.  Thanks to all the existing and new customers patronizing our Winchester location.  The store is getting bigger and stronger every day.  Please stop by if you haven't already, I think you will be really happy with the selection and tremendously happy with the prices.  Keep in mind if your purchase a case of paint at the store instead of the field we will still give you a free field fee coupon.

Chris and Sam have been busy as usual working on the fields.  It is harder to find the time and the daylight this time of year but they have still replaced a tower in the castle field and added some more tunnels to the helicopter field.  The feedback on the fields is great and it is very flattering to have players come from very far away because they heard about our great fields.  Thanks again to Chris and Sammy!!!

Rogue II and Malefactor traveled to jersey for a tournament over Thanksgiving weekend.  Both teams played ok but missed semi finals by just a few points.  The trip was productive however with a trip into New York City the night before the tournament.  What a cool place to be over the Holiday season!!!  All the teams here are gearing up for Winter League and be sure to contact us if you are interested in playing.  This is definitely a happening place.  We have lots of players every weekend, lots of teams practicing, an amazing variety of fields and two air ball fields.  Be sure to check the calendar for any upcoming events!!!

11/15/03 - Sorry for the delay in posting but things have been beyond busy between the store and the field.  Thanks to all our new customers at the store and for my regulars that have been finding their way to us in Winchester.  The store is getting more stuff in daily as we prepare for the Holiday Rush.  The Wish Box is back for the holiday season so be sure to fill out a card so we know exactly what you wanted when your friends and family come to pick out your stuff.  Keep in mind that we can also special order anything that you need that we may not have.  Our prices, service and selection is the best so if you haven't yet stopped by the store be sure to do so.

The field has been staying swamped with over 130 players just today.  We have had lots of new groups and walk ons that are finding their way to our fields.  We had groups from as far away as Lexington today and a group that came up from Yorktown on Tuesday so needless to say, Skyline is obviously worth the drive.  The field will be open Friday after Thanksgiving as well as Saturday and Sunday.

10/26/03 - Well all my traveling is done and I would like to thank Chris, Nash, Mikey, Michael, Jordan and all the guys for helping out the two weekends I was away.  The field was exceptionally busy while I was away and I want to publicly thank them for covering for us while we were away.  The Halloween Big Game this past weekend was a big success with over 125 players participating in this event.  Thanks to PMI for helping out with the prizes and to Nash and Chris for running the game.  The Army beat the Undead (Uncouth) by a half a point.  The turnout was great and I appreciate everyone coming out for this event.  I know a lot of people missed the night game so maybe sometime in the Spring we will bring that back.  The Beans on Sunday went well with Malefactor winning the three man followed by Final Hour and Syndicate.  The five man went to Rogue, OSB and Rogue II.  Thanks to all the teams that came out and participated.  The next beans is scheduled for Sunday, November 23rd.

Plans are underway for the 2004 Winter League.  We will again be using the XBall(tm) format.  Any teams interested in participating are welcome to contact us for more info.

10/20/03 - We are all back in town after heading to Orlando for World Cup.  The event was great with tons of vendors and tons of new stuff for 2004.  The new DYE lineup for 2004 is great and their new line of Proto gear will be a great addition to all the new 2004 Dye stuff.  JT had some new 2004 stuff most notable was the reversible du-rags and the 2004 line of JT Shoes.  We will be getting a lot of the new 2004 stuff in soon.  Viewloader now has a Zboard to add to the evolution and we already have it installed in a few players hoppers and it is evidently even faster than the Yboard.  I will be getting in the ZBoard as soon as I can.  Redz has some nice new 2004 tank covers which we already have in.  Now that we are back we will be gearing up for the Halloween Big Game this Saturday and the Beans this coming Sunday.  See you at the field!!!

9/22/03 - The field and store came through the Hurricane with relatively little damage.  A little flooding in the pro shop, some trees and branches down but the field and pro shop are fine and ready for players.  We have had lots of calls from people wondering if we are open an yes we are.  The Rogue travel team is gearing up to get ready for the World Cup in October.  We are all excited about going to the World Cup this year and are trying to figure out when we will have time to go to Disneyworld since we will be there anyway.  We are expecting our new airball field in the next week or so.  We have ordered a seven man field so in addition to the five man field and extra bunkers we already have this will help us to have plenty of fields ready for when lots of teams show up at the same time.  We should be able to have two full airball fields and another speedball field or two ready for drills, practices, events and Beans.  I know there is a lot of interest in "walk on" Speedball and we are working on that as well.  We are excited about the new addition to the fields and look forward to getting it.  We will also be ordering some additional bunkers including the Big X as seen on the X Ball fields which will allow us to truly have an X Ball field, this will be especially great if we run X Ball for Winter League next year.

9/16/03 - Sorry for the delay in posting the news.  Between the field and store we have just been crazy busy.  Thanks to everyone for welcoming us to our new Winchester store, we are getting busier and busier and are happy to finally have representation in Winchester!!!  If you haven't visited us yet be sure to check out the new store when you get a chance.  We are adding new inventory daily and have plenty to choose from already.

The second scenario took place on September 6th and 7th.  We had a great weekend with a great group of people again.  The scenarios keep getting better and better so be sure not to miss the next one.  As soon as I know when the 2003 scenarios will be scheduled I will let you know.  We have already been making plans for this years Winter League.  It still will be in February and March and we will again do the Virginia Pursuit Cup series.  As soon as I have dates for any of these I will let you know, just keep in mind, it is coming.  We have a Big Game scheduled for Halloween for Saturday, October 25th.  No extra fees just a regular day at the field except for all paint for the big game must be purchased at Skyline Paintball.  You can buy your paint at either the store or field.  We will be giving out lots of treats and prizes and have a few other surprises as well.

8/17/03 - The new store is about complete and ready to go.  Once the boys  get back and settled in from vacation we will be ready to go.  I have been in and out most days to add to the inventory.  We have lots of new store specials with tremendous prices on paint that will include a FREE Field fee with each purchase of a case of paint.  CO2 Tanks, Nitro Tanks, tubes and more are on special at great prices.  We will have some store specials that will not be at the field so be sure to check out the store when you get a chance.  The hours will be 12-7 Monday through Thursday, 12-8 on Friday and Saturday.  I will announce what hours we will be open on Sundays.  The hours will change as needed and I am sure we will expand our hours for the Holiday season which will be here before you know it.

The field has been doing great.  As well as having a record  year, we are having a record and amazing August.  August is generally one of the slowest months of the year but this summer has been anything but.  With lots of days with over 100 players and most days with 60-90 players, the field has been busy and booming.  The new field is playing well and we are gearing up for the scenario on September 6 and 7th.  We can't wait to see all our scenario friends again!!!

The Virginia Pursuit Cup is over for the year and we hope to have more events and fields next year.  If anyone can recommend a field that could handle this event be sure to let Sue know.  Thanks to all the teams that participated and supported this new series.

8/6/03 - The new store will open soon.  The new number is 540-662-2272.  You may miss me there but I do have voice mail there as well and will check it for messages.

7/24/03 - Well everyone is back from the IAO and overall we had a great tourney.  Special Congrats to Rogue II on their fourth place finish in the Rookie Division.  That was a great accomplishment for this new team.  Congrats also to Malefactor for their 10th place finish and Scoundrels for their 20th place finish.  There were 72 teams in the rookie division so all the teams did great overall.  Rogue combined with Rogue II and played novice seven man, they missed semis by two points and finished 17th overall.  The tourney was fun and as usual we spent a ton of money on paint and entry but had a blast.  The tourney this year seemed a lot less busy than in years past.   This year seven man amateur only had ten teams.  I don't think I have ever seen so few teams in a division with the exception of when they had a womens division.  They didn't have any womens division this year and barely had enough for the seven man amateur.  Five man amateur only had a few teams as well.  I am not sure of the future of this tourney but I hope something is done to bring in more experienced teams.  The teams are all recovering from the trip but we will still have a Beans on Sunday.  The teams will finish the VPC on August 3rd at Splatbrothers.  Rogue will also be putting in a five team to the PSP in Philadelphia in August.  Any teams interested in practicing for any of these events should try to be at the Beans or call to set up a practice time at the field.  I would like to thank everyone that attended the IAO from Skyline.  We had over 45 people that attended the tourney including players, wives, kids and I guess a few that had nothing better to do, LOL!!! It was nice to see the field so well represented and a big tourney so well attended from our field.

7/6/03 - Hope everyone had a great 4th of July Holiday.  The heat is here and the players coming out are definitely die hard to endure the brutal heat.  Thanks to everyone that came out over the holiday in spite of the hot weather.  The last VPC has been postponed to a tentative date of August 3rd.  Lots of new things going on at Skyline and look for a special announcement coming up soon.  We will also be scheduling a three man tourney for August or September.  I haven't scheduled another Beans just yet but will schedule one for the end of July or August.  I will work around the last VPC event.  We have several teams gearing up for the Amateur Open in Pittsburgh this month.  The teams will head up to Pennsylvania on July 15th.  Look for Scoundrels, Rogue, Rogue II, Malefactor, Rogue Kidz, all heading up to IAO.

6/22/03 - Team Rogue is back from the Chicago PSP and we are all still recovering from the 12 hour drive.  We had a great time in Chicago and the team had a good tournament.  In the preliminaries Rogue finished 2nd overall but struggled in the semi finals the next day.  Not bad for a team put together last minute to go to the tournament.  Thanks to PEVS for the entry for Team Rogue.  It was a great experience for all of us.

The field has been very busy lately.  Lots of groups have been coming out and we have had days where we have had to run four and five fields as the same time.  The Beans this past Sunday was well attended with nine five-man teams and seven three-man teams.  A second field was put up so the Beans could be run on two separate fields.  Thanks to all the teams that participated.  For five man first was Invasion, 2nd, Malefactor, 3rd Rogue II.  For three man, 1st Rogue Kidz, 2nd Rogue, third Generation X.

The IAO is rolling around quick along with the last Virginia Pursuit Cup.  There should be plenty of teams around on Sundays to practice leading up to these events.

6/8/03 - Rain, rain, rain.  The past several weeks have been rainy and cloudy.  In spite of this the players and groups have still been participating at the field in record numbers.  The pro shop has been staying busy with lots of new players getting geared up and into this great sport.

The third leg of the VPC is over and the results will be posted soon.  Congrats to Supernatural for first place, Rogue II for second place, Razors Edge for third place and Malefactor for 4th place.

Rogue will be putting together a team to the Chicago PSP next week and we look forward to having a new experience at this tourney.  The fields here will still be open so all the groups that are booked please know this won't impact our field hours.  I will be back in time to run the fields for the weekend.

6/1/03 - April and May have been a complete blur.  In spite of the rain the field has broken all attendance records the past few months.  Except for days like Easter and Mothers Day the field has just been hopping. We have even been busy with a lot of weekday groups.   Thanks to the many groups that have been booking and bringing out the players.  The fields are generally busy with at least three fields going on any one day.  Chris has been busy getting the newest field ready and all I can say is it is going to be COOL!  This field should be ready in about a week.  The name for this field is still under consideration but for now I call it "Black Lagoon".  This field has water and Chris and the boys have been busy building floating bridges and cutting in roads so the field will play correctly.  I am amazed at how much work has gone into just the different bridges alone.

The tournament teams have been busy with the Virginia Pursuit Cup.  The last leg of the VPC was held at PEVS.  Skyline sent a bunch of teams and were glad to be a part of this series.  Congratulations to Rogue for taking second place.  Also congrats to Outlaw for first place.  More details can be found on the Virginia Pursuit Cup link on my website.  The next leg of the VPC will be June 8th at Hogback.  Keep in mind the next Battle of the Beans will be Sunday, June 22nd and open to three and five man teams.

Also please note that the beach is open.  I have discount coupons for players and their families.  It hasn't exactly been beach weather but it is coming and it is nice to know the beach is down there after a long day of paintball.

5/18/03 - I am FINALLY able to update the page.  I have two new computers in the pro shop am finally getting to update the news page.  Sorry for the delay.  As I mentioned we now have two computers in the pro shop, the second one should be ready soon so we will have two computer check in terminals when groups get here.  The field has gotten so busy that we have decided having two terminals will really help us to streamline the check in process.  I am sure no matter what it will still be crazy but having two lines available will definitely help when hordes of people arrive at the same time.

So much has happened this past month.  The Blackcat Scenario went great, the weather was much improved over the hot, hot temperatures over the last event.  Even though we had to endure a little rain overall it was perfect.  A great event with a great crew from Blackcat to get us through another successful scenario.  The next scenario will be in September so watch for more info on that.

We have been gearing up to get ready for the beach opening this coming weekend, we will again have discount passes for player to get into the beach whenever they are done playing.  The beach is open til 6pm. so if you finish early ask for a discount pass to the beach.

Chris has been very busy making modifications to the field, the Frontier Fort field is now becoming "Ewok Village".  The water rising has impacted that field so they have added a floating bridge which will be part of the playing field.  More construction is underway and the field should be ready soon.

The second leg of the Virginia Pursuit Cup was this past weekend.  I don't think it could have rained or been more muddy for this event, even so there were 26 three-man teams attending on Saturday and 16 five-man teams on Sunday.  Skyline had several local teams in both events and thanks to all the teams for representing.  Congratulations to Team Outlaw on their first place win in the five man division and to Team Rogue for their 2nd place finish.  Look for pics to be up soon on the Virginia Pursuit Cup part of the site.  The next VPC will be coming up quickly and will be hosted by Hogback Mountain Paintball.  Be sure to keep up with the registration, Skyline will again be sending several teams.  We thank you for your support of this event!!

4/13/03 - We hosted the first two events of the Virginia Pursuit Cup this past weekend.  The weather was glorious both days which was especially appreciated after five straight days of rain this past week.  The website has more info on results of the event.  In addition to being a very busy weekend at the field with regards to the tournaments, the fields themselves stayed extremely busy both days, there were walk on players and tournament players everywhere this past weekend.  This had to have been one of the busiest weekends ever.  Thanks to Team Scoundrels for all their help in getting the fields prepped and ready for the weekend.  Thanks to PMI for their support of this series and for sending us a second airball field to use for this event.  Thanks to Rick at Morgan awards for the great trophies.  Thanks to Alicia, Jamie, Janie, Brooklyn  and Amy for all their help with the snack bar on Sunday.  Thanks to Alexa for always helping me out getting all the players checked in and registered.  Thanks especially to Chris and Sam who continue to work tirelessly in getting the fields ready for our big events.

4/6/03 - What a weekend, teams practicing, groups everywhere, it was a great intro to Spring.  With over 100 players Saturday and close to that Sunday the fields were busy.  A few teams came to run practice before the Virginia Pursuit Cup and lots of groups came out and enjoyed the great weather.  Thanks to all the players that came out this past weekend.  Next weekend, VPC.

3/30//03 - Thanks to all the groups that came out on Saturday.  Who in the heck ordered snow for Sunday???  Well since it is officially Spring the snow Sunday came as quite a surprise.  Thanks to the players that still came out for the day, two of the teams that came to play traveled farther than I would have expected in that weather.

The Virginia Pursuit Cup is rolling right around.  We expect a good turnout for the first event of the VPC.  I would like to thank everyone for helping me to get the word out about this new series.  I look forward to this new event. It will help the teams and the fields that are involved.  Teams can register through any of the host sites or you can print a registration form from my website and send it in as well.

3/23/03 - Another tremendous weekend here at the field, Saturday was packed with groups and players with four consecutive fields running all the groups through  Sunday was slower for walk on but there were still plenty of walk on players around.   Thanks to all my refs for keeping things going this weekend.

Congrats and thanks to all the teams that participated in our Winter League XBall(tm) 2003. We were probably one of the first fields to utilize this format for our players. The teams that participated were some of the first non-professional players to ever play XBall(tm). The format is fast and fun and a great spectator event.

The teams that participated this year were, KayOas, Evol, Outlaw, Scoundrels, Missiles and Rogue. The teams were great and learned a lot playing XBall(tm).

Sunday was the final day with all the teams participating in their last XBall(tm) session. The teams all received prices sponsored by PMI including PIPES, Nitro tanks, Jerseys, Hats and Headbands. I would like to thank PMI and Eric for helping with the prizes and Rick from Morgan Awards that provided the trophies for this event as well.

With Winter League over we look forward to the Virginia Pursuit Cup Series, the first event will be here in just a few weeks.

Thanks again to all the teams that participated. I would also like to thank the wives and girlfriends of Team Scoundrels. They were here every week to support their team. It is a rarity for the women to support the men in their lives when it comes to paintball. They are definitely the exception and it was great for them to have their cheering section here every week.

3/16/03 - Well I am exhausted and the weekend is over so we must have been busy.  Actually were were very busy the past few days, Saturday was a great day with lots of walk on players and groups, Sunday was busy with the Beans and a lot of walk on players as well.  The Beans went well as usual and the walk on players got to enjoy the fields without snow for a change.  There are actually only a few places left with snow and the water is up so high at the quarry it is amazing.  The fields are not very muddy though as the dry out for this past snow was pretty slow.  It was nice to be able to use all the fields again as several times we had a few fields going at the same time and it is nice to have room to move everybody around.  Thanks to the great job my refs did both Saturday and Sunday, we moved a lot of people through here and I appreciate them stepping up to the challenge.  Thanks to all the scenario players that came out for practice Saturday as well.  The guys are having fun with the scenario practices and are looking forward to playing again.  I have recently sent out the flyers for the scenario so if you attended last year yours should be there soon, if you don't have a form and need one, they are here on my counter in the pro shop and I will be happy to help you with the registration.  Remember, register by April 5th and the registration is only $40 which includes a $5 coupon for air, register after that and you will be sad, so register early!!!

Thanks to all the three man teams that came out for the Beans.  A few teams got here a little late and  I didn't let them play but for the ones that were here thanks for coming out. The day was beautiful and the teams cranked through their games finishing before two o'clock. There were nine 3-man teams with a lot of new faces and teams coming out for the first time to Skyline.  Thanks to John, Sam and Chris from Team Rogue for helping out the newer teams.

Final Results
Team Ruckus - 1st Place
Twizted - 2nd Place
Team NOVA - 3rd Place

Also in attendance were Twilight, Team NOVA, Unresolved Issues, Blitz, Ball Busters and Final Hour.

3/9/03 - The past weekend was beautiful, sunny and much warmer.  Most all of the snow is gone and the players came out in droves on Saturday.  Sunday wasn't as busy but Saturday the players must have been ready to get outside and play some paintball.  Thanks to all the groups that came out Saturday and enjoyed the great weather, we met lots of new players and had a great day at the field.    Reminds me of last winter when we were so spoiled with mild weather.  The Winter League XBall(tm) continued this weekend.  Team Evol and Team Rogue played on Saturday, Missiles and Scoundrels played Sunday along with Outlaw and Kay-Oas.  Only one more weekend to go, weather permitting Winter League should finish up on Sunday, March 23rd.  A reminder that a 3-Man Battle of the Beans is this Sunday.  Teams and players should start checking in around 9am.

3/2/03 - It was great to be busy again after all this bad weather.  The past few weeks we have obviously seen a lot of snow and it definitely impacted things here at the field.  Last Sunday was fairly busy and I believe we were the only field that actually opened up.  Winter League was postponed to this past weekend and we have never had to cancel Winter League before.  Friday Alexa and I spent the day unburying and getting the ice off of all the bunkers on the airball field.  Even so, the bunkers were still surrounded by a foot of snow.  By Sunday afternoon though the field had been pounded down and was only a few inches deep.  Thanks to the teams that came out for Winter League and played on a very different airball field, playing in the snow is comparable to playing in the sand, you can only run but so fast.  Everyone was wet, cold and exhausted at the end of the day.  On Saturday Rogue reffed the Missles v Evol.  In between games the Rogue players started a snowball battle on the field that continued on and off throughout Sunday.  Boys on a field with bunkers and snow means there is always a snowball flying around somewhere.  The refs were able to keep themselves entertained between games by basically laughing at whoever was getting hit with the snow.  On Sunday Rogue played Kay-Oas and Scoundrels played Outlaw.  The Scoundrels vs. Outlaw match was definitely exciting with Scoundrels eeking out the win.  Winter League will begin again next weekend.  Saturday was busy with plenty of walk on players for this time of year.  We had a busload of players come up from Lynchburg and we are happy to say the bus made it up and down the long beach road without any problems.  The players were a great group and we look forward to hosting them again soon.  Chartering a bus is a great way to spend the day at the paintball field, no one has to drive and you can just relax and sleep the whole way home!!!

2/2/03 - Things have been crazy around here getting ready for XBall(tm)  The guys have been working on the field getting it ready, the pit crew areas are ready and netted, the tower is ready and netted and the fields are ready and netted.  The teams will start playing next Saturday the 8th.  All spectators are welcome.  The final details are being worked out on the Virginia Series and the dates and places will be published soon.  The dates are tentatively, April 13th, May 18th, June 8th and July 13th.  The series will be wrapped up before the Amateur Open.  The dates are all for five-man, if a field decides to host three man it will be the Saturday before.

1/26/03 - This winter has been brutally cold but we had a brief "heat wave" this past weekend with the temps staying in the 30's both Saturday and Sunday.  The group that was here last Wednesday was crazy cause the temps were probably about 20 or lower all day.  The brief respite in the cold kept a few players away Saturday but Sunday was busier, not a normal Sunday but busy for a cold Super Bowl Sunday.  Happy Birthday to Matt Doolan, Matt celebrated his b-day with some friends and family here at the field.  The scenario team had their first team practice and although we were missing a lot of players the group had a good time running drills on the Castle and town fields.  The next practice session will be in February and I will post the date as soon as it becomes available.  In the meantime, you all stay as warm as possible, Spring will be coming before you know it.

1/19/03 - A lot went on this past week.  Chris and Sam attended the Smart Parts Tech class and are both authorized Smart Parts Technicians.  Chris is also the new owner of an  Impulse and enjoyed having the opportunity to play with his new toy this weekend.  Sales will be brisk on the new Impulses this year, they are a great gun at a great price and we now can take care of all necessary upgrades and repairs here at the field.  We could do it before but now it is official.  Sam was the youngest person ever tech certified by Smart Parts.  Congrats to the boys on their new certification.

Saturday marked our first team meeting for our newly forming scenario team.  We have a big interest in this format and the players have scheduled a practice for Sunday, January 26th at 10:00 am.  Keep in mind this is open to all players regardless of experience, equipment or age.  If you missed the meeting try to make the practice on Sunday.  Also I have an email mailing list for the team so if you want to be added please send me your email info.

This weekend marked the first "official" introduction of XBall(tm) here at the field.  The Beans on Sunday was played using the XBall(tm) format.  A shortened version was utilized so the teams could get the feel for the new play.  Teams played using an 8 minute quarter.  Each team played four eight minute quarters.  XBall(tm) is AWESOME!!.  The teams seemed to enjoy the format and it was great for the spectators to be able to participate by cheering and yelling.  Although each team did not get to play all of the other teams because of time constraints the day went well and the teams got in plenty of  playing time.   I think Winter League is going to be a blast.  Teams will be scheduled by the session so the two teams playing will know there time and other teams can come to watch if they like or only come when there session is scheduled.  The benefit to this format is that the teams will get checked in, get down to business and be done.  They won't have to wait like in a regular tournament for each of their scheduled games.  Yesterday marked the first time playing for some of the teams including Team Evol and Team Wild Card.  The shortened version did result in a few ties but the highlight of the day was the chance to play XBall(tm).  First place was Rogue II, 2nd was Team Evol & Team Outlaw, 3rd was Team Missiles and Team Scoundrels.  We are looking forward to Winter League XBall(tm) and are happy to have been able to offer this new style of play to our teams.  If your team wasn't here, sorry you missed out, we had a blast!!  Thanks also to the three man teams that participated in the Beans in between the XBall(tm) sessions, it is always great introducing new teams to tournaments.

1/12/03 - Another cold weekend in January and despite Saturday being a bit slow Sunday made up for it.  Thanks to all the players that came out in the cooler temps and played all day.  Just a reminder that the scenario team meeting will be this Saturday at noon and the Beans will be on Sunday.  The players will be using the new XBall(tm) field on Sunday as well.  See you this weekend!!!

1/5/03 - Happy Happy New Year to everyone.  January 1st started the year cold and rainy.  A few die hard players were around for the day but things kicked up this past Saturday the 4th with well over 100 players here for the day.  We had several fields going at one time and the day just flew by.  Sunday was a bit slower as we had lots of snowfall but I did get a few pictures that I hope to upload real soon.  How the players saw anything in the snow is beyond me but they had a good time.  Keep in mind we are open no matter the weather.  Thanks to all the players that came out to give the New Year a great start.  We are looking forward to a great year.

12/25/02 - Hope everyone had a great Holiday season.  We are still anticipating News Years and plan to make 2003 even better than 2002.  The pro shop this past month has had record breaking sales as our customers were busy getting ready for the Holiday.  There are probably a lot of happy paintball players out there today with all their new gear and equipment.  Santa was good to a lot of players this year.  There are also tons of you out there with Gift Certificates to Skyline Paintball.  Thanks to all our loyal and many new customers for keeping the pro shop and field busy the past several weeks.  We anticipate seeing a lot of faces here in the next few weeks as players get out and have fun with all their new stuff.  We look forward to seeing you all and will keep you up to date on the 2003 events including Winter League, the Virginia Pursuit Cup Series, the Blackcat Scenarios, the Beans and much more!!!

12/8/02 - In spite of the weather we enjoyed a busy weekend.  Lots of players turned out for the Big Game on Saturday and Sunday was a little slower with a few teams practicing and smaller numbers of walk ons.  Just a reminder that the field is always open rain/shine/snow, etc.  This weekend should be rather busy with lots of groups scheduled and the Beans on Sunday. We will be giving out some info on our Virginia Series and Winter League XBall(tm).

12/01/02 - A brutal welcome to December with high winds and it was COLD!!! Friday and Saturday went great after the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Lots of familiar day after Thanksgiving faces were here and the fields stayed busy both days.  Sunday was a bit slower with the extreme cold and wind here throughout the day.  Several hardy players and refs still braved the cold and played all day.  Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and remind Santa of what you want for the Holidays.  We have lots of wish list cards on file and don't forget to fill one out if you haven't already.  Don't forget the Big Game on Saturday, December 7th.  We plan on giving out lots of Holiday goodies!!!

11/24/02 - With the rain last weekend a distant reminder the players appeared in droves here at the field.  The field hosted  well over 200 players for Saturday and Sunday as we made up for last weekends slower numbers.  Thanks to the refs for keeping everyone going.  Saturday was a slower start as everyone seemed to arrive at the same time.  We had four playing fields going at one time as well as four different church groups so we were truly blessed all day!! Thanks to all the players that came out Saturday.  Sunday was busy with 8 five-man and 8 three-man teams participating in the Beans.  The walk on players were kept separate and the air ball field was busy with the tournament players.  We had a lot of new faces at the Beans and really look forward to this event every month.  Thanks to all the teams that came out including Poontang, ABC, JMU Gold, Scoundrels, Scoundrels II Twizted, Bohica, Triple Entente, Pyro, Inhumane, Rogue II, Rogue III, Outlaws, TBD & Hells Angels.  We appreciate you all making the trip to participate in this unique event.  Yeah for the Beans!!!

5-Man
1st - Poontang
2nd- Twizted
3rd-Bohica

3-Man
1st - Rogue III
2nd-Rogue II
3rd-TBD

11/17/02 - Congrats to Rogue II for taking 2nd place at the Global Paintball League 5-Man Amateur B division in Pennsylvania this past weekend.  The team played well with lots of rain, cold and mud to deal with.  Way to go Rogue!!!!   The field was drastically slower than usual this past weekend with the hideous weather causing several groups to reschedule.  Happy Birthday to Chris Matthews on Wednesday.  Chris and his group still endured the rain and cold on Saturday as well as several more hardy (or crazy?) players.  Sunday was slow with only a few players trekking out for the day.  Overall the weekend was ok considering the weather so we will look forward to the next few weekends in hopes that the weather will cooperate.

11/10/02 - Thanks to all the groups for a tremendous weekend.  The warmer weather appeared which worked out great for the groups Friday and Saturday, Sunday stayed overcast but turned out to be just fine.  The field has been booming and we have been working hard to keep up with the demand.  This past week we completely remodeled the pro shop and the rental area.  Those players that were here this past weekend saw the new and improved pro shop.  We have been getting tons of new stuff in and gearing up for the Christmas rush.  The new pro shop is definitely more organized and easier to find all the stuff you are looking for.  If you haven't been here try to stop by soon and see all the new gear.  A reminder that the "Christmas Wish Box" is back in business and you all are welcome to fill out your "wish list" so friends and family shopping for you will know what you want.  If I don't have it I will be happy to order it.  The new layout in the pro shop enables us to service the customers more efficiently.  I will be adding a second check in terminal soon so that will help when the big groups get here all at once.  Looking forward to the next few months, lots of teams have been practicing and we are also seeing an influx of new teams.

10/27/02 - Whew, what a weekend, a big day session on Saturday, the annual Halloween Night game Saturday night and the Beans and walk ons all day Sunday.  I am pleasantly exhausted.  All three sessions were busy and we had an absolutely beautiful weekend.  The day session Saturday was busy.  Thanks to Steve Torres for bringing out the guys again this year, I think this was about the 4th or 5th year they have been out.  Thanks also to Colin for his group, they were a great group to have at the field and to ref.  After an busy day Saturday the lines blurred between the day session and the night session as players arrived early and began checking in.  The night game was the warmest on record for us here at Skyline.  This was the first time we had a night game and I didn't freeze.  The Castle and the Town field were under lights for this game and the fields seemed so different under the lights.  The players were happy with their trick or treat bags and we finally finished up around midnight and got home around 2am.  Thankfully the clocks went back an hour and on Sunday we got to the field and started it all over again.  Teams for the Beans were here along with the walk on players for the day.  With the clock going back a lot of the Sunday stragglers were here right at ten o'clock, what a difference an extra hour makes!  Anyhow the Beans went great as always and the teams played hard and had some great practice.  Rogue II finished 1st with Poontang in 2nd and Rogue Kidz in 3rd.  Thanks to all the teams that came out for the Beans!!

10/19/02 - Another tremendous weekend here at the field.  A few tourney teams practiced Saturday and Sunday but the days were busy with rental and walk on players.  Thanks to all the refs for hanging in there and keeping up with the crowds both days.  We had a few special visitors on Sunday with my godson Alex and his family attending and playing for the first time.  The boys had a good time and were bit by the paintball bug.   Thanks to Nick, Philip, Paul and Alex for coming out and bringing Wilma, Willie and Peg with them.  I was so glad to see them again and look forward to seeing them again soon.  We are looking forward to next weekend with our Annual Halloween Night game, we are expecting a big turnout and a reminder to everyone to dress warm for the night play.

10/13/02 - News of the weekend is the tourney.   The tourney went smoothly, we had a great group of teams and there were no major penalties or problems.  The new air ball field layout was different and challenging for the teams.  The new bunkers definitely give us much more flexibility with setting up the field in different formats.  The pictures from the tourney are up on the web shots link on the website.  Congrats to Crucial 2K for 1st place, Crucial 2nd Place, Scoundrels, 3rd Place and Powerline 4th place.

10/11/02 - I have been out of town and haven't had a chance to update this page.  I wasn't here this past weekend but by all accounts it was busy.  The guys managed without me while I was having fun shopping at Cape Cod.  Glad to know the paintball field still turns without me.  I missed everybody though and it sounds as though we had a houseful Saturday night.  My house and Western Steer will never be the same again.  Looking forward to the tourney on Sunday.  The new bunkers are also in for the airfield which is a great new addition.    Glad to be home!!!

9/29/02 - Got to love the Fall.  Seeing lots of old faces that haven't been around all summer and the cooler weather is bringing the players out in droves.  Lots of new and rec players played over the weekend, had some great groups and had a good weekend.  Sundays highlight was the Battle of the Beans.  This event is just plain fun to have.  The teams this week were great and we also hosted lots of new teams.  The Beans was a tight finish with Poontang Clan in 1st over Rogue II and Rogue Kidz in 2nd and 3rd.  There were five points between first and third.  I think that is the closest beans ever.  Team Poontang took home the Beans and congrats to a great team!!!! Nine teams in all practiced this Beans including Scoundrels A and B, Adrenaline, Merk Squad, Poontang Clan, Addiction, Rogue II, Rogue Kidz and Adrenaline Rush.  Great group of teams and thanks to all of you for a fun Beans!!!

SKYLINE PAINTBALL TEAM DISCOUNT PROGRAM

As most of you know Chris and I have always done what we could to help teams and new up and coming teams. We have worked out a new Team Discount Program for teams that practice at Skyline. This will enable us to offer discounts to a wide variety of teams without the restrictions of our team sponsorships. Discounts will be for gear, paint, entry, air and more. I will give teams discount information when they are here and I can go over the details. The other nice thing about this discount program is that we will offer it to three man and five man teams. You can see me here at the pro shop on your next visit.

Once again, Skyline will lead by example.

9/23/02 - Well it was another great weekend here at the field, at one point on Saturday we had four and five fields running at one time. The players liked the new field and we will keep expanding to hold all the groups that have been heading out. Thanks to all the groups that came out this weekend, one church group came all the way up from Williamsburg to play the fields.

Thanks also goes to all my refs over the weekend, we had a lot of different things going on and you all handled it well. Thanks for helping to get us through the day!!!

9/15/02 - The past two weekends have been jam packed with players and a special thanks go out to my refs for doing such a great job with so many players and fields running.  We have had a few over 100 player days already for the Fall.

Saturday, September 14th was the 3-Man Novice Tournament.  Thanks to all the teams that participated, to team Rogue for the reffing and to all the guys that helped keep the tourney running smoothly.  Twelve teams participated (no particular order) Twizted, Scoundrels A&B, Crucial, Too Crucial, Powerline, Blackout, Relentless Attack, Rogue Black, Rogue Kidz, Incult and Outlaw.  Congrats to Too Crucial for taking the win in the finals, 2nd place - Relentless Attack, 3rd place - Blackout, 4th place - Crucial.  The teams were great and we enjoying hosting everyone.  Thanks to the refs for keeping the walk on play going on Saturday while the tourney was going on.  It is nice to still accommodate the walk on players even though a tourney is in progress.  We are looking forward to the arrival of our new ultimate air bunkers and plan to use them for the next Battle of the Beans on September 29th.

9/1/01 - Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend.   We have been gearing up for the 3-man Tourney on September 14th and looking at a good turnout for this event.  For our rec ball players Chris and Sam are building a new Frontier Fort field which will be a great addition to our fields.  They have been steadily working to get it ready for the players, hopefully we will get some pictures up soon.  The field was busy over the Holiday and we look forward to the next few weeks.

8/25/02 - Happy Go Back to School Days Everyone.  Most everybody is heading back to school or college this week, thankfully that means Fall is coming.  The fields are gearing up for the Fall rush and we have scheduled several events on the calendar.  Pro Shop sales have been busy and we are looking forward to some new and exciting changes to the pro shop in the next few months.  We will definitely keep you posted.  Teams have been practicing regularly on Sundays and teams are welcome to come by and practice.

8/17/02 - Well the Amateur Open has come and gone and I have to say we had a blast up there.  The new location was perfect for this tourney.  Team Rogue Black and Rogue had a tough time but had some good games.  Although neither team made semi's at least Rogue played some great games against some great factory teams.  Nobody can accuse them of sandbagging, they played Amateur even though they are still basically a novice team.  Playing good teams will only help them in the long run.  The highlight of the tourney was team Incult which played under the name Gravity.  They had a good tourney and made it to the semi finals.  They kept their heads through the preliminaries and had a good event overall.  We are really proud to have them as a sponsored team.  Also new at the Amateur Open this year was the debut of X Ball.  This was fun to watch and should help get paintball more involved with the X Games on television.  This format was fast paced and should be able to make paintball even more mainstream.  We had fun cheering and yelling for Team USA.  We also got to meet a lot of celebrity paintballers including Chris LaSoya, Rocky Cagnoni and others.  We saw lots of old friends and met a lot of new people as well.  Overall we had a great event and I am sorry it was over.

At the field we have had some busy days and some slower days.  The players keep coming out in spite of the heat so no complaints on the business this summer.  The guys seem to play no matter the weather so we will cruise along and get ready for the Fall.  We expect fall to be about out of control with players so not only are we looking forward to a busy fall but we are looking forward to the cooler weather.  I have had enough of this hot summer.

We also have ordered some more bunkers for the air ball field.  Look for some upgrades and changes in the air ball field in the next few weeks.  We hope to have the first of the new bunkers in by the 3 man in September and this will help with practices, Beans and events in the future.  We should have a brand new look for the Big Trophy tourney in October.

8/4/02 - The dog days of summer seem to be here as we are heading up to the Amateur Open.  Teams are ready and anxious to get up to the tourney and it looks like there will actually be a break in the weather up there.  Thank goodness!  Will be scoping out the new stuff and let you all know what is new and exciting in the world of paintball when we get back.  The fields will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 5.  If anyone needs to contact me while I am out of town you can reach me on my cell phone at 540-325-5455.

7/28/02 - The Battle of the Beans was a great event with ten teams attending in the brutal heat.  First place was Team Poontang, 2nd place Team Crucial, 3rd place Team Rogue.  We had a great turnout in the heat and the teams played some great paintball and got in some great practice coming into the IAO.  Saturday was extremely busy with over 60 players in the heat and a big storm right in the middle of the day.

7/21/02 - This past weekend we hosted our first scenario, if you missed it, you missed out.  This was a great weekend here at the field.  We had players from as far as California come in for this event.  Special thanks to Blackcat Productions for making our first scenario event a great success.  I can't wait to get the next one scheduled.  Return to the Island of Dr. Moreau was a blast!!! Be sure to go to www.blackcat-productions.com for more info and pictures on this event.  We have had great tournaments here, have great walk on and rec player weekends and now can add scenarios to our repertoire.  We can now say we have the whole package here at Skyline.  Be sure to keep up with my calendar to look for the next event.  Special thanks to all my refs for working so hard this past weekend in the blazing heat.  Thanks to John Amodea and Josh Silverman from Paintball 2Xtremes for coming out and covering the event for the magazine, look for an article in an upcoming PB2X on this event.  I had a great time and met some great people over the weekend, Triple J, Jake, Joe & Jordan had a blast with you guys all weekend, thanks to Mark & Barbie and their daughter for coming all the way from Texas for this event, thanks to Jim  and all the Virginia Irregulars for coming up as well,  thanks to Brett, James and Max for all their help, thanks especially to Spiro and Karen for walking us through our first scenario.  Also special thanks to Rachel and Chris for coming all the way from SC from Paintball, Inc., it was cool having a vendor here at one of our events.  I know everyone is exhausted, and I hope everyone has showered, LOL.    It was so much more than I ever expected.  Thanks to all the Rogue guys for helping out and congrats for the best ref award goes to Team Rogue.  I know I haven't listed everyone but please know I appreciated everything.  See you at the field!!!!

7/14/02 - Lots of teams around gearing up for the IAO.  Looks like the next beans will have a lot of players that are also attending the Amateur Open.  Team Incult  and Rogue-Black have been practicing hard and getting psyched for the tournament.  Look forward to getting back up to Pittsburgh and seeing some old friends again.  The fields are still open every weekend with the exception of this weekend when we will be hosting the scenario.

7/10/02 - Sorry about the delay on the news page but things have been hectic around here lately.  Where the heck is July going?  The scenario is rolling right around and we are busy getting prepared for it.  The teams are busy practicing weekly for the Amateur Open and that is right around the corner as well.  Lots to look forward too.  The field are staying busy and the town is being painted.  The Castle field is undergoing renovations in preparation for the scenario and will include some great new towers.

6/23/02 - The summer is officially here and the hot weekend we just had proved it.  Sunday was hot, crazy, busy and the Beans!!!  The Battle of the Beans took place on Sunday with congratulations to Team Incult, Team Rogue and Team PBA for winning Beans and some cash.  There were eleven crazy teams out in the heat practicing and many of them are gearing up for the Amateur Open.  Sunday was typical IAO weather so that should help the teams prepare.  Thanks to all the teams that made the trip for the Beans including Iron Legion, Adrenaline, Soulbane, PBA Teams, Scoundrel and Titans II.  The last beans it rained about 2 inches and this one probably hit close to 100 degrees, wonder what the next Beans will be like?????   Thanks also to all the walk on players that were out on Sunday.  I was swamped here in the pro shop and I appreciate you guys hanging in there as I got everyone checked in.  I think I will try to add a second check in terminal soon.  Also I apologize for not getting all the hot dogs cooked, if anyone is looking for a job cooking hot dogs, please send them to me.  I need the extra help.

6/16/02 - Hope everyone had a great Fathers Day weekend.  The weather was tremendous for this time of year.  The fields were busy but not swamped and the days went well.  Thanks to Mike and John for watching the pro shop while we took Chris out for his Fathers Day Brunch.  It is near impossible to get out of the pro shop on a weekend but thanks to those two we were able to leave for a little while.  The new POS system for the pro shop is now installed and in place and is really a great  update to the pro shop.  We can now check in all our players and customers with the computer and have automated the entire process.  I am still learning it and will master it soon.  I will be adding a second terminal sometime which will enable us to have two check in lines for those crazy days and should help to streamline the check in and out process.  This is a great upgrade to the field and we have set another standard of service for our fields.  Thanks to Chris for pushing me in this direction, even though I dragged my feet, I have to admit he was right to automate this process.  I have reluctantly given up my yellow pad and learned this new system.  We are looking forward to the Beans next weekend and hope to see everyone soon and get you on the computer!!!

6/9/02 - Congratulations to the graduates of the latest Ref Corp class held here this past Saturday.  We have a lot of certified refs here at Skyline and we hope to have even more in the future.  Thanks to Bill Bryant for traveling out here and teaching the class. I am thrilled have a new group of certified refs to use here at the field.

6/2/02 - Things were much calmer around here this past weekend.  Thanks to Loyal for bringing his company guys out Saturday.  Not often the paintball players come in a limo.  The guys had a great day and we look forward to hosting them in the future.  Sunday was eventful with the Rogue Kidz practicing along with Team Sinister.  The teams have been gearing up to get focused and ready for the Amateur Open.  Bring your teams to the five-man beans on June 23rd.  The IAO will be here before we know it.  A reminder that the ref class is this coming Saturday, be sure to let me know if you are planning on attending.

5/27/02 - Wow, what a weekend.  Saturday was a blast.  The 1st Rogue Invitational was held on Saturday with twelve teams competing for the first prize of team trophies and $1000.  The honor went to Filthy McNasty's of Richmond.  2nd place, trophies and $500, went to Crucial, 3rd Place, trophies and $200 went to Team Walk Ons.  Fourth place was Team Hitmen.  The first Rogue Invitational went smoothly.  The teams were well behaved and played hard.  The refs did a great job and were on top of things on the field.  We had lots of positive comments from several teams that participated and appreciated the great job the refs and staff did.  The new PA system was a great addition and helped keep the teams informed and where they needed to be.  The airball field is now covered with the small pea gravel which made sliding into the bunkers easier.   Sunday was a little slower and hot but after Saturday we were exhausted,  Monday was busier than expected and the weekend finally finished with a huge thunderstorm that hit about 4pm on Monday.  Thanks to all the players that came out over the weekend and to all the tournament teams that were here.

5/19/02 - Sorry for not updating sooner but it has been a hectic few weeks.  The fields have been very busy and the weather has been crazy.  Lots of rain and lots of beautiful sunshine, seems we go from one extreme to the other.  Happy Birthday to all the players that have been out here celebrating their birthdays.  Goodbye to all the RMA kids that are graduating or moving to other schools.  Welcome to all the new faces and players that have been out over the past few weeks. The field has been averaging well over a hundred players a weekend for the past several weeks, this past weekend we had over 160.  The field is getting bigger, better and stronger.  We are gearing up for the tourney this Saturday and keep in mind the fields will be open for walk on play as well.  The 1st Rogue Invitational is set to go next Saturday at 9am.  A lot of interest has been generated by the scenario game scheduled for July 20th.  We will be posting more info as soon as it becomes available.  Also note the new calendar for the website, it will be a great addition to the site and hopefully keep the players up to date on what is going on at the field.

5/5/02 - Thanks for another great weekend here at the field, only had a little rain in the afternoon on Saturday so the groups were able to play through with no effects from Mother Nature.  Rogue and the Rogue Kidz had a great practice on Sunday and were able to get a lot accomplished.  Saturday and Sunday were both busy with players and groups from all over.  The beach is gearing up to reopen and we are looking forward to the Rogue Invitational on May 25th.  Thanks to everyone that helped work this weekend.

4/28/02 - Two straight weekends of rain but the fields still stayed busy.  The rain is needed so we won't complain.  Saturday was busy with groups from AU here again as well as many other players.  They day was overcast but the rain held off till Saturday night and then it poured.  Sunday morning was deja vu again with just tons of rain and mud to greet us.  Players still streamed in and by noon the skies cleared up and the sun actually made an appearance.  The play continued all day till around 4:50 when the skies darkened and the next batch of storms rolled through.  Thanks to all the players that endured the elements and had a great weekend!!!

We have scheduled a scenario game for July 20th here at Skyline Paintball.  More info will be posted later but keep this date in mind.  Also don't forget to check the pictures from the field section of the website as I have been trying to add pictures whenever I can!!!

4/21/02 - Well if you play tournament paintball and you missed the Beans yesterday, don't miss the next one.  Twelve teams participated in the pouring rain to get some great practice in.  There were 9 five-man teams and 3 three-man teams playing.  The three man went smooth and welcome to Team Triple Entente to tournament paintball.  Matt, Eric and Adam played in their first event and did just fine.  The  5 -man beans went great.  There were nine teams with three of the teams being brand new to tournaments, including Team  JMU, Team Insane and Team Adrenaline.  Thanks to all those players that came out and gave tournament play a try, we look forward to seeing you all at the next event.  Twizted, Rogue, Rogue Kidz, Fishless A, Fishless B and  Dark Fates rounded out the five man field.  Dark Fates stepped up their play improving noticeably from their last tournament.  Way to go guys!!  The beans is all about getting the practice and the experience to get better!!

I would like thank everyone for coming out and not letting the poor weather keep you away.  Skyline is THE PLACE for tournament players and yesterday was a perfect example of why.  Special thanks to Robert for cooking all those burgers!! I think he ended up cooking over 75 burgers.  Also thanks to all the walk-on players that played in the rain ALL DAY!!! I know you all were wet, cold and wet when you left.  We had a lot of new faces yesterday and you all were die hard to play in the never ending rain.  I think it actually stopped raining around 5 or so for just a little bit.  Thanks also to the refs for hanging in there with all the rain.  I know it was miserable but I appreciate you all helping get the job done yesterday!!!

4/14/02 - Yet another weekend has gone by and as usual the weatherman had it all wrong.  Both days were really busy with Sunday being the busiest.  At one point we had four fields going so we had people going in all directions.  Saturday stayed cloudy with a little rain and the humidity reminded us of the summer days ahead.   The cookout season was officially kicked off Saturday with the first barbeque of the season.  It was nice to have the burgers again even though they weren't true Rogue burgers cause I didn't know what the secret sauce was.  Sunday brought AU back to us again and it was nice to have their group here.  We had several other groups out Sunday and the weather stayed nice till around 4pm when we had a huge downpour which ended as quickly as it began.  Thanks to all the players that came out this past weekend and a special thanks to all the refs that worked this weekend, I know we worked you hard and thanks for keeping up with all the different groups.  Also a special thanks to Ephraim for making Chris that nice Skyline Paintball sign for his birthday!!!!

4/7/02 - We hosted a 3-man tournament this past Saturday to make up for the one cancelled by the APL.  We had twelve teams in attendance including, Team Piranhas, Dark Fates, Incult, Crucial, Too Crucial, Broken Silence, Spaced Oddities, Blackout, Outlaw, Trauma, BCBG-Goldstar and Hitmen.  Since it was a Novice tournament the teams drew numbers to determine divisions and the schedules were printed and given to the teams at the Captains meeting.  The games began at 9:30 am and rolled from there.  The 5-minutes games went quick and the teams were lined up and ready to go as each game was completed.  The refs did a great job getting the teams chronographed and ready to go to keep the tournament moving.  There were 2 Divisions with 6 teams each so each team played 5 games plus a game out of their division.  The top two teams in each division were to proceed to the finals.  The finish of Division 1 resulted in a tie between Incult and Crucial.  The teams had a playoff game to determine who would continue into the final round.  Team Incult came on strong and were able to proceed to the finals.  The finals were run in a round robin format, the final resuls were Too Crucial 1st place, Incult 2nd place, Outlaw 3rd Place and Blackout 4th place.  The tournament was completed and prizes were handed out and it was only 1:30.  Thanks to my refs to doing a great job and to the players for having a great day of paintball with no incidents.  Special thanks to Dark Fates, Hitmen and Team Piranhas for attending your first tournament here at Skyline.  Also thanks to BCBG, Trauma and Blackout for traveling to the tournament as well.  We appreciate you all  making the drive up here.

Sunday was actually warmer than Saturday and we had a great day at the field once I actually got here.  In spite of my reminder on the message board to set the clocks forward, I somehow forgot.  Thanks Bryan for calling me and reminding me about the time change.  Walk on play was busy and we had a great group of players out for the day.  It was a great day to be out at the field!

3/31/02 - Hope everyone is having a great Easter.  It is cold, wet, rainy, and there are still diehard players here!!  Since most everyone stayed home and enjoyed their Easter Basket goodies enjoy yourselves cause next weekend the kickoff to Spring tourney season begins!! Good luck to Twizted as they head up to Ultimate Madness.  We are starting the Spring season here with a 3-man novice tourney that will be held in lieu of the APL tournament.  Looks like the APL is dropping the ball so we will continue on with a tournament anyhow.  We are ready with a brand new 3-man field and look forward to seeing everyone next Saturday.

Thanks to all the players that came out this past Saturday, we were much busier than expected and the weather was much better than predicted, we rolled through a ton of paint and everyone had a great day!!  Got to love the Spring!!

3/24/02 - Saturday brought around the Easter Egg Hunt, thanks to all the players that participated and I hope you all enjoy your prizes!!!

The final day of Winter League went great, great competition, no whining, new field, great weather, etc.

Rogue II - 1st
Outlaw - 2nd
Rogue Kidz Black - 3rd

The day went smooth and the players showed up to discover a brand new field for the final day of play. Bruce and Ricky from Team Titans spent Saturday combining the barrel and air ball fields together to form a new field for the last day of play. Teams needed to adapt quickly to the new field as it was new to everyone and had never been played before. There were lots of stalemates on the new field and the players tried to determine the best strategy for hanging the flag.

Rogue II won the Winter League series and class act that they are donated their entry into the APL to Team Sinister. Sinister participated in all four events of Winter League. They played shorthanded, didn't complain and worked hard all four weeks. In recognition of this Rogue II gave them their prize. Since Rogue is the home team and wanted to participate in this event for the experience they were happy to give their entry fee to the team they felt best exhibited what paintball and competition were all about. Sometimes teams lose sight of what is important in competition and get caught up in the swirl of emotions and misunderstandings. Team Sinister was a great example of a team enjoying the spirit of competition.

Thanks to all the teams that participated and we are now looking forward to the APL on April 6th and the Rogue Invitational on May 25th.

3/17/02 - Hope everyone had a great St. Patricks Day weekend and the field stayed busy in spite of the rain.  Saturday was busiest and we had a few birthday party groups that day as well.  Happy Birthday to Derek Moran and Tommy Kohler, both brought out groups for their birthday celebrations.  The day was cloudy on Saturday but the rain stayed away till Sunday.  It was cold, wet and rainy on Sunday and some dedicated paintball souls still trekked out for the day.  I am sure everyone was glad to get cleaned up and a hot shower at the end of Sunday.  The rain is ok though cause we really did need some rain.  Team Incult and Sinister practiced on Saturday and Team Titans practiced on Sunday.  See everyone next weekend for the Easter Treasure Hunt and Winter League Finals on Sunday.

3/10/02 - Another eventful weekend here at the field.  Saturday stayed busy with two different groups from Christendom College.  The guys were here all day and played till they were about ready to drop.  Thanks to Ray and Thomas for bringing out your groups.  We also had another church group on Saturday with most of their players being brand new to paintball.  Thanks to everyone that came out, it was a great day here at the field.

Week 3 on Sunday of Winter League turned out to be a great day.  Some of the newer teams seemed to turn it up a notch and turn in some of their best play in the league series so far.  The day was cold and very windy compared to Saturday so the airball field wasn't used and the players decided to go back to a remodeled barrel field.  The field was brand new for everybody at the league and the games began.  Thanks to Team Titans for reffing the event again.  Fair Warning played again this week getting in some excellent practice for their team which is the exact purpose of the league series.  Week 4 will complete the series on Sunday, March 24th.  We are looking forward to another great day of Winter League.  Walk on play was pretty busy on Sunday despite the high  winds and cold.  Along with the regular players we had two small groups of kids come in and play paintball for the first time.  The kids had a blast and were thrilled to be introduced to paintball.

3/3/03 - This Saturday was busy even with the day ending with a cold, pouring rain.  Most of the groups managed to stay here and play anyway.  The rain held off till about 1 or 2 and then it was a cold, miserable rain.  The rain didn't bother the DiLorenzo group though, the kids played wet and went home wet and muddy.  Thanks guys for sticking it out.  Sunday cleared up and was beautiful despite the weather forecast, the day was pretty slow with the exception of RMA coming out again.  The players played lots of games in the new town field and had a blast.  The new town field is getting better and better.  Chris and the guys got a lot of work done on the town and the jungle this past weekend.  I brought in some extra help for Chris and they got lots of new stuff built on the jungle field and added more buildings to the town field.  They also made a bunch of signs for the town so we will start getting the town painted and the buildings labeled so everyone will know what building they are in.    The teams are back from Skyball and it seems everyone had a tough time up there from this area.  Looks like it was a great event even if the teams struggled.  An event like that is always worth going to just for the atmosphere, glad everyone made it back over the border! At least I think everyone is back!!   Thanks to Team Incult for wearing my jerseys and putting the banner up, I heard they had a blast and just enjoyed themselves.

2/24/02 - I can't believe this past weekend was February.  We had absolutely beautiful weather and lots of players to go with it.  Saturday was pretty normal with a few different groups coming out to play including a group from Calvary Church and a birthday part group with Sam Brill.  Happy Birthday Sam!!!  Along with the regular walk on players, Team Incult practiced as they are gearing up to go to Skyball on Wednesday.  Good Luck Guys!!!

Sunday began cold but warmed up fast.  Week Two of Winter League was Sunday.  Twelve teams participated this week and the teams ran through the schedule and were finished by 3pm.  Thanks to Team Titans for reffing and cranking through the games so fast.  I will post the scores soon once the handicap has been figured in.  Things were busy enough around here with Winter League but walk on play was busier.  The great weather brought out lots of walk on players as well as the birthday group with Joshua Brandes.  Josh finally made it out here for his Birthday party and the kids had a blast!! You can see a picture of Josh and his group on the Pictures page.  Thanks everyone for a great weekend!!

2/17/02 - Saturday was busy with lots of players and some great weather to go with it.  Sunday was colder and windy, more typical to what you would expect for February.  Ryan Wines was here again with his group on Saturday,  how many years has he had his birthday party here??? It has been a bunch, Happy 18th Birthday Ryan, on the plus side you can now sign your own waiver forms!!!   Thanks for bringing out your group again.    Also happy birthday to Eddie Johnston!  Nice to see Eddie and the guys again.

Team Incult and some of the Rogue players practiced Saturday helping to prepare Incult for Skyball.  A few teams from this area will be making the trip up to Skyball so the teams are getting ready as this tourney is fast approaching.

2/10/02 - So much went on this past weekend I am not sure where to begin.  I will start with Saturday, thanks to Billy for bringing out his group again, although we see them once or twice a year, this time they were back from only a month ago.  Evidently this addictive sport has gotten them as well!!!

Sunday began colder and cloudy as we began Winter League.  Eleven teams participated and I have added a new page to the site to keep everyone up to date on Winter League.  The teams had a busy day and the refs were even busier.  They cranked through a ton of games finishing up the day around 3 or 3:30.  Although we were swamped with Winter League the day stayed busy with walk on players as well.  The regular players kept busy on the fields and spent a lot of time on the new town field as well.  Some people have asked to play only that field but with all the fields we have here we try to get the players to as many as possible.  Winter League also marked the drawing for the Angel LCD.  Congratulations to Shawn Hunt on your new Angel.  Shawn has already begun to trick out his new Angel including adding a Halo and lots of KAPP accessories.

2/3/02 - Thanks to everyone for another great weekend.  Both walk on days were really busy and along with some of the regular players there were lots of new faces and even some familiar faces from the past.  Most notably, Nate Glatkowski showed up on Sunday.  Now those of you who go back to when Rogue first started up will remember Nate.  He was one of the original Rogue players.  Nate is now with the Navy and is getting ready to deploy.  It was great to see him again and we wish him well.  Stay safe Nate!!!  Also making an appearance this past weekend  again were several of the Front Royal Firefighters, it was nice to see you all again as well.  I do believe they realized how much they missed playing.  Everyone absolutely loved the new town field.  Players are asking to play this field again and again.  Even though everyone still loves the other fields, the new town is surpassing the Castle Field in popularity.  It will only get better.

Winter League starts next Sunday and we will still have open play both Saturday and Sunday.   Also don't forget the Angel drawing will be this Sunday, February 10th.

1/27/02 - This past weekend was sunny, beautiful, in the 60's or 70's and crazy.  Saturday stayed busy with walk on play and Sunday just plain rocked.  Along with a big walk on crowd we stayed busy with the 1st Beans of the year.  We had ten teams participate so we divided into two divisions.  For Division A we had Broken Silence in 1st, Chaos in 2nd and Twizted II in 3rd.  For Division B we had Rogue II in 1st, Rogue in 2nd and Twizted in 3rd.  The teams got in some great practice and we also saw a lot of new faces to tournament play including Team Spotzy Warriors, Team Chaos, and Broken Silence.   Thanks to everybody that came out, we had a tremendous weekend.

1/20/02 - Here it is January and we had our second weekend with snow, I think we are already past the snow we had last year.  Thanks to all the players that came out on Saturday and braved the weather and roads to come and play.  The snow actually stopped around noon so I think that helped everyone with the drive home.  Sunday brought a few tourney teams in for practice and I am sure everyone was wet and cold by the end of the day.  We are looking forward to the first Beans next Sunday and Winter League is fast approaching.  The  feedback from the new town field is still great and we are still looking for a name so let me know if you come up with anything!!!

1/13/02 - This weekend was really busy so I would like to thank all the different rental groups that came out and played.  The weather was great Saturday and breezy on Sunday.  This was the kind of weekend you love to have in January, not too cold, no rain and lots of players.  Thanks to my refs for working so hard this weekend and keeping the games going.  The town field now has 23 buildings on it with more coming.  This field is getting huge.  I will try to get some more pictures online so you can see the changes since the last time I posted.  Things still need to be painted and signs need to be put up but it is definitely taking shape.  The feedback has been great and we have been playing this field even though it is not complete.  It will just get better, it is so neat that even the tournament players want to use it for one day of winter league.  We shall see.  Anyhow if you haven't been here since this field has undergone construction
